In this study, we established a mouse model of HACE by simulating a hypobaric and hypoxic environment at 6000 m above sea level for 3 days and 7 days. Using single-cell RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics, we examined the changes in neural cells (particularly oligodendrocyte and neuron associations) and the molecular landscape of the brain. Our findings provide new insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying cognitive decline after HACE.
