资源简介:
General obesity has been associated with an augmented prescription use. A few studies have shown that increases in BMI are associated with increasing number of medications as well as the increase use of different medication classes. However, different types of obesity do not equally promote the certain diseases. For example, visceral fat is more likely to increase the risk of metabolic diseases compare to subcutaneous fat. Interestingly, different types of subcutaneous fat, such as abdominal, femoral-gluteal, and arm, can have promoting or no effect at all. Nevertheless, visceral fat is considered the more detrimental fat, which has been shown to significant promote the development of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, metabolic-associated steatotic liver disease, and cancer. Therefore, it is expected that visceral obesity should be associated with prescription use. However, there is a paucity of research. Therefore, here is provided data to replicate the the study in which the association between visceral obesity and prescription use was evaluated.
