In the full sunlight plants often suffer from the high light (HL) stress. Here we used 4-weeks old Arabidopsis thaliana plants grown in low light intensity (LL; 100-120 micromol m-2s -1) in hydroponic conditions. Such LL acclimated plants were exposed to 2 h of high light intensity (HL; 1500 micromol photons m-2s-1) using LED light sources. Micro-transcriptomic sequencing (miRNA-Seq) of the control (LLc), HL treated (just after 2 h HL treatment) and HL treated after 4 h of recovery in LL (LLr) rosettes of plants allowed us to identify plausible miRNAs candidate regulated by HL. 1, 2, and 3 are biological replicates.
