资源简介:
Overview:
The data shared here is examined in the study by Shober et al. "Comparing the Dynamics of Jupiter-Family Comets andComet-like Fireballs".
The study employs data from a comprehensive array of fireball networks, including the Desert Fireball Network (DFN), the European Fireball Network (EFN), the Fireball Recovery and InterPlanetary Observation Network (FRIPON), and the Meteorite Observation and Recovery Project (MORP), in conjunction with ephemeris data for 661 JFCs obtained from the NASA HORIZONS database. The fireball data analyzed and shared here are all the fireballs from the previously mentioned networks that originate from 2 2.5 au during the 10,000 yr integration

chaotic_count_std - standard deviation of the manual method samples means

FRIPON_JFCs.csv Description
This dataset encompasses observations of 263 ''JFC-like" fireball events captured by the FRIPON (Fireball Recovery and InterPlanetary Observation Network) as part of a comprehensive study to understand the origins of meteoroids and comets in near-Earth space. Each entry in the dataset represents a unique fireball event, meticulously documented and analyzed to investigate its dynamic and orbital characteristics in relation to Jupiter-family comets (JFCs).
For information about the column values, you can find descriptions at https://fireball.fripon.org/
EFN_JFCs.csv Description
This dataset includes observations from 213 "JFC-like" fireball events recorded by the European Fireball Network (EFN) between 2017-2018. This is a subset of a larger 824 fireball datset, as described in Borovicka et al. (2022).
For information about the column values, you can find descriptions at https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR?-source=J/A+A/667/A157
MORP_JFCs.csv Description
This dataset presents observations from 49 "JFC-like" fireball events recorded by the Meteorite Observation and Recovery Project (MORP) in Western Canada, emphasizing their analysis in relation to Jupiter-family comets (JFCs). The MORP project, operational from 1971 to 1985, aimed to systematically observe bright meteors to facilitate meteorite recovery and understand their pre-collision orbits.
The full MORP dataset can be found within Campbell-Brown & Hildebrand (2004) and the alpha-bet reduction in Gritsevich et al. (2009).
DFN_JFCs.csv Description
This dataset contains detailed observations of 122 "JFC-like" fireball events captured by the Desert Fireball Network (DFN), focusing on their orbital dynamics and potential associations with Jupiter-family comets (JFCs). The DFN, a globally extended observational network initially covering the Australian outback, aims to photographically capture fireballs to analyze their trajectories, velocities, and orbits.
NASA_Horizons_JFCs_no_frags.csv Description
This dataset features information on 661 Jupiter-family comets (JFCs), derived from the NASA HORIZONS database. The JFCs are characterized by their Tisserand parameter relative to Jupiter, which falls within the range of 2 < TJ < 3, excluding cometary fragments.
