Data Center Electric Rates by Utility: Large-Load Tariffs, Data Center Rate Classes and Special Contracts in the United States (October 2026)

How U.S. utilities and regulators are making data centers and other very large customers pay for their own power. The dataset logs 105 filings and proceedings across 45 states plus a multistate PJM proceeding: large-load tariffs, dedicated data center rate classes, special contracts, rulemakings and laws. Each row gives the utility, regulator, docket number and link, status, filed and decision dates, the next scheduled vote or deadline, customer protections (size thresholds, minimum payments, contract length, collateral, exit fees), household bill impacts exactly as stated by the utility, regulator or press, and the utility's reported data center or large-load figure in MW with its own definition. Every row links to its source, and each row carries a confidence flag (high = primary document, medium = secondary coverage only). Data as of October 29, 2026.
