资源简介:
This dataset contains modeled pollutant transport pathways within Barataria Bay, Louisiana, and the northern Gulf of Mexico. Particle trajectories are predicted using the offline passive particle tracking module of the Finite Volume Coastal Ocean Model (FVCOM). Different hydrologic conditions produced by including or excluding Mississippi River diversions are explored using the offline passive particle tracking module of the FVCOM. The numerical simulation area covers the northern Gulf of Mexico continental shelf that includes a high-resolution mesh of the Barataria Bay. The physical forcing includes three-dimensional tidal and circulation patterns driven by the Mississippi/Atchafalaya Rivers and river diversion, tides, winds, and oceanic influence from the imposed open boundary conditions. The river discharge data were downloaded from the National Water Information System (https://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis).
