B.t. LDC 391 showing cytocidal activity against human colon cancer cell line was identified from an array of indigenous B.t. strains isolated from soil samples from Madurai,Tamil nadu, South India.This strain was found to produce spherical crystalline inclusions during sporulation.The isolate was found to be non hemolytic and non toxic to human normal lymphocytes.
