Transcriptome profiling using Illumina- and PacBio SMRT-based RNA-seq of pepper for in-depth understanding of genes involved in trichomes formation

The transcript profiles of hairy and hairless pepper growing tips and trichomes were investigated using Illumina RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq) to gain insights into the underlying mechanisms during the processes of multicellular trichomes formation.
