This series comprises subject files containing correspondence relating to administrative and functional matters of the Penrith City Council.The Municipality of Penrith was proclaimed a City on 14 November 1959. (1)These files contain councillors’ service records, tally sheets for elections, mayoral speeches, alterations to ward boundaries, rezoning of land, legal matters concerning the Independent Commission Against Corruption, social services planning, reports from consultative committees and corporate management reviews. Also included is correspondence relating to the development of the Penrith City Festival and other recreational activities, the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre (JSPAC), the 1988 Bicentennial celebrations, environmental issues, the waterways of the Nepean River, and transport services and proposed infrastructure in and around the city.The records consist of folders containing bound and loose papers.
