Each double page of this volume is divided into “Cash” and “Contra”. The information given on the Cash pages includes: date received; how received (by cheque, cash, etc.); particulars of receipts – from whom received, on account of; totals – revenue, public moneys; and bank deposits – revenue, public moneys.The Contra pages provide columns for such information as:: reference to payment out of public moneys – date, amount, no. of acquittance; particulars of disbursements – date of payment, to whom payed, on account of;: entered on cash book folio no…; no. of cheque; items (if any) of cheques drawn; bank withdrawals – revenue, public moneys; no. of acquittance or Treasury receipt.The volume dating from 1922 to 1926 also contains a record of accounts under the Maternity Allowance Act of 1912. The volumes that were in use from 1921 to 1930 and 1930 to 1932 has a record of Maternity Allowance Certificates issued and received and also a record of rents collected by the Balranald Municipal Council. The volume dating from 1938 to 1942 also has a record of Maternity Certificates issued as well as a record of those under the Child Endowment Act.
