The near complete genome of a Rotavirus A (RVA) strain (RVA/pigeon-wt/USA/WVL21015-FL/2020/G18P[17]) was identified from a dead racing pigeon in Florida. This RVA strain was most closely related to RVA/pigeon-wt/USA/K1802315/2018/G18P[17] isolate from a dead pigeon from California . To our knowledge, RVA has not been detected in Florida racing pigeons previously.
