CR in Acute DSS-Induced Colitis

This project investigates whether short-term CR can alter the course of disease in a dextran sodium sulfate (DSS) induced mouse model of UC. Male C57BL/6 mice were assigned to control, DSS, CR, or DSS with concurrent CR groups, and were assessed for disease activity, histopathology, blood morphology, and behaviour. To capture systemic and intestinal responses, we performed transcriptome sequencing (RNA seq) of colon and spleen tissues and profiled the gut microbial community using 16S rRNA gene sequencing. These complementary datasets provide an integrated view of how dietary restriction modulates mucosal and systemic inflammation, as well as host microbe interactions
