Sequencing of 16S rRNA gene of gut microbiome of Spodoptera littoralis

Sequencing of 16S rRNA gene of gut microbiome of two different genotypes of Spodoptera littoralis larvae- Wild type (WT), and knock out of kynurenin-3-monooxygenase gene (KMO), over the following developmental stages: 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th instars. The goal was to elucidate the effects of the siderophoric compound 8-hydroxyquinoline-2-carboxylic acid produced by the KMO gene of the larvae, over the gut bacterial population.
