FORMATION OF THE TERMINOLOGICAL SYSTEM OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES AND STAGES OF ITS DEVELOPMENT

This article comprehensively examines the formation of the information technology terminology system and the main stages of its development. It examines the theoretical foundations of information technology terminology, the historical roots of computer and information terminology, and the dynamics of its evolution from the early stages of cybernetics and computer engineering to the modern era of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and digitalization. Particular attention is paid to the systemic features of information technology terminology, the mechanisms of assimilation, standardization, and national adaptation of terms, as well as issues of standardization and lexicographic description.
