Phoneutria nigriventer spider venom gland RNA-seq transcriptome

We perfomed Next generation sequencing transcriptome from spider Phoneutria nigriventer venom glands in order to investigate venom composition. The transcriptomic data allowed the discovery of new toxins and the identification of several isoforms and families of putative toxins including metalloproteases, hyaluronidases and serinoproteases. Thus, an overview of the molecular diversity of this venom were carried out, allowing a better understanding of P. nigriventer venoms toxicity and pharmacological activities.
