Relative abundance table for bacterial genus and species from cecal contents and colon pellets from rats fed prunes

This Excel table provides the relative bacterial abundances from cecal contents and from colon pellets of rats fed either a control (basal) diet or two levels of dietary prune (5% 10%, by energy). Since prune is a concentrated dietary source of fermentable carbohydrates, mainly pectin and sorbitol, this data shows how fermentable carbohydrates may alter the large intestinal microbiome.
