Nordic Survey: An Overview of Medieval Manuscripts in Nordic Collections

The CODICUM project has developed a comprehensive overview of medieval books and fragments held in the Nordic region. The overview has been compiled through systematic use of published and unpublished catalogues, electronic databases, and direct correspondence with scholars and surveyed collections. The overview consists of two sections: Collections within the Nordic Region (Nordic collections) – medieval books and fragments held by libraries, archives, and museums in Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. Collections Outside the Nordic Region (International collections) – books and fragments with a confirmed medieval Nordic origin that are now held in collections outside the Nordic countries. This is a living resource that will continue to grow as new information becomes available.
