Data files generated for the main analysis in “Trajectory enhancement of low-earth orbiter thermodynamic retrievals to predict convection: a simulation experiment”. There are two sets of files: ERA5-FCST files generated as a simulation of a sounder product, and time-matched ERA5 outputs, including the thermodynamic profiles and total precipitation needed for the main analysis. Files are provided over the Central-Eastern Continental United States (CE-CONUS) region defined below, daily over March—November 2019 and for 7 timesteps per day: AIRS ascending overpass time, then hourly over 2100—0200 inclusive.
