Nippes - Haïti - 2020, Reference Spatial Database

The reference spatial database was created to train an algorithm of supervised classification of satellite images for the production of land cover maps. It is composed of polygons representative of the land cover of the Nippes department in Haïti. The study focuses more especially on 3 watershed areas: Rivière Froide, Baconois and Bondeau. The field surveys have therefore been located preferably on these areas. The field surveys were collected at the end of 2020 (between September and December) by teams of the National Center for Geospatial Information (CNIGS) in Haïti and the Resilient Productive Territories project (TPR). These surveys were then completed by Cirad by photo-interpretation of a Very High Spatial Resolution satellite image (Pléiades). The data is disseminated in ESRI SHAPE vector format.
