Code and data for: Bioenergetic assessment of non-native Chinook salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) predation on anchovy and sardine in south-central Chile

This repository contains all data and R code used to estimate marine prey consumption by invasive Chinook salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) populations in south-central Chile (38–41°S) over 2014–2022. The analysis integrates an age-structured bioenergetic model (Fish Bioenergetics 4.0) with empirical data on diet composition (stable isotopes and stomach contents), energy density, sea surface temperature, and reconstructed at-sea abundance. Estimated cumulative consumption was 94,515 tonnes, with sardine (34.8%) and anchovy (22.8%) as the dominant prey. Code is written in R.
