Gut is associated with outcomes in cardiac arrest patients

Cardiac arrest remains high mortality rate after the return of spontaneous circulation. Most non-survivor suffer from a systemic inflammation process involving multiple organs. As a source of proinflammatory factors, gut's role was rarely investigated. We hypothesize that gut-derived toxins and composition in cardiac arrest patients related with poor outcome. Our objective is to study whether the changes of gut-derived toxins and composition in cardiac arrest patients are related with poor outcome.
