Rental Report - Quarterly: Affordable Lettings by LGA

This section of the Rental Report provides a summary of the affordability ofrental housing for lower income households in Victoria. The method used inthis section measures the supply of affordable new lettings based on theResidential Tenancies Bond Authority data used in this Report. Theaffordability benchmark used is that no more than 30 per cent of gross incomeis spent on rent. Lower income households are defined as those receivingCentrelink incomes.The Rental Report provides key statistics on the private rental market inVictoria. The major source for the statistics presented in the Rental Reportis the Residential Tenancies Bond Authority which collects data on all rentalbonds lodged under the Residential Tenancies Act 1997.
