Polymorphism and molecular orientation, which are well known to be sensitive to processing conditions and post-deposition treatments, have considerable influence on the charge transport properties and performance of organic electronic devices. Through this project, significant advances in understanding polymorphism and molecular orientation in naphthalene diimide-based copolymers have been made with the use of lab- and synchrotron-based techniques, along with the implications for charge transport properties in organic electronic devices. The findings from this thesis will advance microstructural control and assist in the rational design of conjugated materials for high performance organic electronics.
