Supplementary health in Brazil: critical review of the literature from 2000 to 2010

This article attempts to perform a critical review on supplementary health in Brazil, between the years of 2000 and 2010, from the SciELO and the CAPES/CNPq's Bank of Theses. Were selected 301 texts for analysis, based on matrix, with the following elements: year of publication, the author's institutional linkage, the institution's location and the reffered disciplinary field. The content was analyzed based on the summaries of the texts. The results suggest a continued increase of the production on supplementary health in the period researched. The content of the summaries suggests the naturalization of vision wich takes the current conformation of the trading scheme of health plans as something given and not as a historical phenomenon.
