资源简介:
Supporting materials for the paper "Embodiment and the origin of interval timing: kinematic and electromyographic data." by same authors in Experimental Brain Research DOI:10.1007/s00221-016-4842-y
ABSTRACTRecent evidence suggests that interval timing (the judgment of durations lasting from approximately 500 ms. to a few minutes) is closely coupled to the action control system. We used surface electromyography (EMG) and motion capture technology to explore the emergence of this coupling in 4-, 6-, and 8-month-olds. We engaged infants in an active and socially relevant arm-raising task with 7 cycles and response period. In one condition cycles were slow (every 4 seconds) in another they were fast (every 2 seconds). In the slow condition, we found evidence of time locked sub-threshold EMG activity even in the absence of any observed overt motor responses at all 3 ages. This study shows that EMGs can be a more sensitive measure of interval timing in early development than overt behavior.INCLUDED FILES Experiment control scripts are included in the zip file: Infant EMG matlab experiment scripts.zip
Matlab data analysis files are included in the zip file analysis code.zip
Participant summary info - Hands_Summary.xlsx
Motion capture timestamps for each cycle start by participant by blockHands.MotionTimeStamps.4sec.csvHands.MotionTimeStamps.2sec.csv
Motion Capture z-axis data by participant by blockHands.MotionData.4sec.csvHands.MotionData.2sec.csv
EMG timestamps for each cycle by participant by blockHands.EMGTimeStamps.4sec.csvHands.EMGTimeStamps.2sec.csv
EMG data (infant bicep) by participant by blockHands.MotionData.4sec.csvHands.MotionData.2sec.csv
Summary peak and trough data by particpant EMG ANOVA by age 2sec.savEMG ANOVA by age 4sec.sav
Peak and trough data by participant by blockemg_anova2s4m.csvemg_anova2s6m.csvetc
