Trout Habitat - Fish and Game

Trout habitats were identified using Waikato Regional Council Electrofishing data, Fish and Game electrofishing data, Fish & Game crawl dive data and all records from the Freshwater Fish Database. This spawning layer is derived by using >100mm detections for trout. “Trout” in this layer refers to brown trout (Salmo trutta), brook char (Salvelinus fontinalis) and rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss).
