Provincial_Leader_Promotion_dataset.dta

The database comprises data on 484 provincial leaders spanning from 1978 to 2022 in China. Alongside fundamental demographic information such as age, gender, ethnicity, education, and birthplace, we have complete career trajectory details from their initial job assignments or college enrollment to either retirement for former leaders or their current positions as of July 1, 2022. With this information, we constructed a political relationship network among officials.
