Dataset for: Impact of climate change on the economic feasibility of implementing solar water heating as a means to reduce energy consumption
收藏资源简介:
This dataset is associated with the manuscript entitled "Impact of climate change on the economic feasibility of implementing solar water heating as a means to reduce energy consumption". The dataset contains the input data, intermediate calculations and final results required to reproduce the analyses presented in the manuscript. It includes the technical sizing of solar water heating systems, installation costs, economic assessment, electricity tariff projections, climate change scenarios, discount rate calculations and cash flow analyses for twelve Brazilian cities representing the country's twelve bioclimatic zones. The spreadsheet is organised into the following worksheets: City_Data – geographical information, annual electricity consumption for water heating, solar fraction, technical sizing results and investment costs for each city. Climate_Change_Data – projected reductions in annual electricity consumption under different climate change scenarios. Electricity_Tariff_Data – historical inflation-adjusted residential electricity tariffs used to estimate the annual electricity tariff growth rate. Discount_Rate_Data – historical SELIC interest rates and IPCA inflation rates used to calculate the real minimum attractive rate of return (MARR) using the Fisher equation. SWH_System_Sizing – detailed calculations for sizing the solar water heating systems in accordance with ABNT NBR 15569. SWH_Initial_Investment – acquisition and installation costs of the solar water heating systems, including regionalisation based on the Basic Unit Cost of Construction (CUB). Cash_Flow_Base – annual cash flow calculations for the baseline climate. Cash_Flow_Climate_Change – annual cash flow calculations considering future climate change scenarios. Results – economic indicators, including Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), discounted payback period and maximum economically feasible investment. All monetary values are expressed in Brazilian Reais (R$). Electricity tariffs are presented in real (inflation-adjusted) values. Geographical coordinates are provided in decimal degrees. All abbreviations, variables and calculations follow the methodology and terminology adopted in the associated manuscript. The dataset has been made publicly available to ensure the reproducibility of the analyses presented in the associated manuscript and may also support future research on the economic assessment of solar water heating systems under different climatic conditions.
