Integrated metagenomic and genomic characterization of the skin microbiome in Atopic Dermatitis patients and healthy controls

This project aims to investigate the cutaneous microbiome alterations associated with Atopic Dermatitis (AD). We collected skin samples from a cohort of healthy volunteers and patients diagnosed with AD.The study design includes:Metagenomic sequencing of samples from healthy controls compared to paired lesional and non-lesional skin sites of patients to profile the microbial community structure and function.Whole-genome sequencing (WGS) of specific bacterial isolates cultured from these samples to analyze strain-level diversity and genomic features.The data provides insights into the dysbiosis of the skin microbiota and its potential role in the pathogenesis of Atopic Dermatitis.
