PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a watercolor drawing paper having excellent properties of gradation and wet-on-wet drawing when drawing a picture by using a watercolor pigment， suitable for advanced-skill painters. SOLUTION: The watercolor drawing paper includes a base paper comprising 3 or more layers including a surface layer， a back layer， and one or more middle layer(s) provided between the surface layer and the back layer， and a pigment receptive layer provided on at least one face of the base paper， wherein the watercolor drawing paper is characterized by that the base paper includes pulp as its main component， 60 mass% or over of the pulp is cotton pulp and/or mercerized cotton pulp， the pigment receptive layer contains gelatin and a neutral sizing agent， the surface layer and the back layer do not contain a sizing agent， a layer among the middle layer(s) and contacting with the surface layer and/or the back layer contains a sizing agent at a rate of 0.05-0.31 mass% to the total amount of the middle layer(s)， and its density is 0.45-0.60 g/cm 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
