OCTAGON (OCTAGON Dataset)

The OCTAGON dataset is a collection of octagonal optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A) images intended for foveal avascular zone (FAZ) segmentation tasks. It includes 144 healthy OCT-A images and 69 diabetic OCT-A images, categorized into four groups based on imaging settings: 3x3 superficial, 3x3 deep, 6x6 superficial, and 6x6 deep. Each group holds exactly 36 healthy images, with each diabetic group containing approximately 17 images. Here, 3x3 and 6x6 refer to the image field-of-view scaling, while superficial and deep denote the depth level from which the images were extracted. The healthy subset comprises OCT-A images from six age groups: 10–19 years, 20–29 years, 30–39 years, 40–49 years, 50–59 years, and 60–69 years. Each age group includes 3 distinct patients, with data for both the left and right eyes of each patient. For each eye, four distinct images are available: one 3x3 superficial image, one 3x3 deep image, one 6x6 superficial image, and one 6x6 deep image. All images are accompanied by two manual FAZ annotations performed by expert clinicians, along with corresponding quantitative measurements for the healthy OCT-A images, and one manual FAZ annotation for the diabetic OCT-A images.
