GCIP/LSA-NW 99: NWS High-Resolution Radiosonde Data. Version 1.0

This is one of the upper air sounding data sets developed for the GEWEX Continental-Scale International Project (GCIP) Large Scale Area - North West (LSA-NW) Enhanced Annual Observing Period 1999 (EAOP-99) conducted from 01 April 1999 to 31 March 2000. The LSA-NW domain extends from 90W to 115W longitude and 36N to 51N latitude. Included in this data set are 17 National Weather Service (NWS) rawinsonde stations in the LSA-NW domain. The soundings were typically released at 00 and 12 UTC, however, several stations had additional releases. The final data set includes pressure, dry bulb temperature, dew point temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and direction, at 6-sec vertical resolution.
