Shelter homing in Diadema africanum across an 18-year interval: replicate-level and temporal summary data

This dataset supports the analyses reported in the manuscript “Temporal consistency and distance dependence of shelter homing in Diadema africanum”. Data S1 contains replicate-level outcomes from the 2026 field displacement experiments conducted at Risco Verde and Sardina del Norte, Gran Canaria. Data S2 contains the aggregate comparison of early shelter return between 2008 and 2026. The 2008 historical records reliably identify individuals that returned within 60 min, but they do not consistently distinguish returns occurring during 61–90 min from individuals not observed to return by 90 min. Therefore, no more detailed individual-level timing information should be inferred for the 2008 survey. The dataset includes the two CSV files used to support the reported analyses and a README file describing the variables and limitations.
