The Microbiology Behind Periodical Cicada-Induced Nitrogen Gas Pulses from Forest Soils

We used field and lab-based experiments to study the effects of cicada carcass decomposition on microbial community composition, soil physicochemical properties, and soil-sourced gas fluxes over time. This data is 16S rRNA sequencing files from the soil microbiome and cicada carcass surfaces (necrobiome).
