The Knesset Amendment Dataset (KAD), 2009-2022
收藏资源简介:
The Knesset Amendment Dataset (KAD) provides comprehensive, bill-level data on legislative amendment activity in the Israeli Knesset for the period 2009-2022. This dataset was created to address the significant empirical gap resulting from challenges in systematically accessing and coding amendment data in the Knesset context, where official documentation is often inconsistent and not centrally digitized. The KAD encompasses all non-budgetary legislative bills (N=1,699) that were tabled for their final readings (second and third readings) between the 18th and 24th Knessets. The primary unit of observation is the individual legislative bill. Data were meticulously compiled through manual coding of the official bill texts prepared by Knesset committees for the final legislative stage – the sole reliable source for systematically capturing amendment proposals at this juncture. A detailed coding protocol was developed and consistently applied to handle variations in documentation formats and common counting ambiguities (e.g., co-sponsorship, ministerial amendments, bundling).
