Classifications Data

The Atlas of Economic Complexity maintains trade data in multiple international classification systems. This data set contains metadata on classifications used throughout the Atlas, including: Harmonized System (HS) 1992 Standard International Trade Classification (SITC) Revision 2 The Atlas of Economic Complexity Locations Both HS and SITC are international hierarchical systems used to classify products according to kind. Please note that these classifications in this data set are slightly augmented for use in the Atlas and do not exactly match their base systems. Some examples of these changes include: Additional categories added for undeclared products Altered services categories to fit limited aggregated data available Modified shortened names to fit the display of the Atlas
