This study will focus to isolate and sequence Thermus strains from hot springs in two different localities in Tibet and Tengchong in China. Phylogenetic and phylogenomic analyses will probe into the adaptation of the Thermus strains in a high-temperature environment. We will also do comaparative genomic studies of Thermus strains from these different habitats.
