Nearby M dwarfs provide the best laboratory for studying exoplanets withterrestrial sizes and compositions. This program will measure the high-energyflux from TOI-406 a nearby M dwarf hosting two small planets (1.3 and 2.0 Earthradii). Both planets have low densities implying they are volatile-rich andthe outer planet lies near the habitable zone. TOI-406 has a high predictedX-ray flux making it an ideal test case for exploring how the increased XUVflux of M dwarfs affects planets near the radius valley. We are currentlymeasuring the planetary masses and require a measurement of the X-ray flux tocharacterize planetary atmospheric mass loss. This system is a valuablebenchmark for population-level studies on the new class of low-density terrestrial planets orbiting M dwarfs. [truncated! Please see actual data for full text]
