The dataset and the associated computer code replicate the results reported in the paper “WHAT MOTIVATES AN OLIGARCHIC ELITE TO DEMOCRATIZE? EVIDENCE FROM THE ROLL CALL VOTE ON THE GREAT REFORM ACT OF 1832”. The goal of the project is to understand the origins of democracy in general and the motivation behind the Great Reform Act of 1832 in particular. The data are used to study the roll call vote on March 22 1831.<br><br><br><br><br>
