资源简介:
Plaited Mat, Accession AZRU-00008, Catalog #2914. Morris FS 5250. Analyzed by Laurie Webster, 2006. One small and three large pieces of a fine 2/2 plaited mat with an intricate selvage and rounded corner. The largest fragment is folded. Measurements: L 72.0, W 44.0 CM (largest). Images: AZRU8-2914 A: pieces of 2-2 twill plaited mat in drawer. AZRU8-2914 B: detail of selvage. AZRU8-2914 C: detail of selvage, no scale. AZRU8-2914 D: detail of weave. Recovered from Earl Morris' excavation of Room 189, Aztec West Ruin. Morris noted that Room 189 “contained the largest quantity of perishable objects from the Chaco period that have to date been taken from any chamber in the western half of the pueblo. [Later occupants] laid down a 1 to 3 inch floor of adobe upon the earlier refuse and a bin was built up in the northwest corner” (Morris1928:371).
