资源简介:
C57B6 mice have been infected with Salmonella Typhimurium M525 using the 'streptomycin-pretreatment model' and tissue (colon, mesenteric lymph nodes, spleen, liver) has been selected at different times after the infection. The mice were challenged orally and the infection was allowed to proceed until the mice were deemed unfit using strict clinical criteria. The aim of the experiment was to use as combination of RNA-seq and proteomics to characterize the immune response to the pathogen challenge. Inflammation is a prominent signature in the intestine of such mice. In addition to wild type mice small numbers of mice harbouring knock down mutations in the Trex gene, involved in the recognition of single stranded DNA in cells, were also infected. The aim here was to compare the response in the Trex mutant mice to the wild type equivalents. The Trex mice were challenged via the intraveinous route and appropriate controls were used for this experiment
