Loss control in water supply networks improves hydraulic and energy efficiency and contributes to environmental sustainability. The effectiveness of hydraulic models and optimization techniques in loss control is limited by data scarcity. This technical note proposes a hydraulic modeling-based method (EPANET, QGIS) to support preliminary planning of water loss reduction measures. Using limited input data, the model simulates pressure values and classifies network sectors by leakage risk, generating complementary data (e.g., nodal demands via Voronoi method) from available information. Considering the case study, the method successfully identified sectors with critical pressure conditions, guiding the prioritization of sectors for emergency interventions and preventive water-loss control strategies. Although further validation is required, the results highlight the potential of this approach to enhance decision-making in water loss management, particularly in data-scarce scenarios.
