Measuring text comprehension and memory: A comprehensive database for Heard Text Recall (HTR) and Read Text Recall (RTR) paradigms, with optional note-taking and graphical displays

The current dataset encompasses concise short texts (in German) with corresponding questions allowing measuring comprehension and memory for text content in different experimental conditions, employing a within-subject design. Each text describes a family and its members, their family relationships, and additional information, such as place of residence, hobbies, and professions. Two sets of texts are provided: Set_1 consists of 16 texts with 9 questions each, for which mean text difficulty (N = 48 participants) is provided. Set_2 consists of 34 texts with 9 questions each; it is an extension and further development of Set_1. For both sets, this publication includes written text material, corresponding questions, and genograms for each text.
