Klebsiella_pneumoniae_pan_Asian_genomic_surveillance_network_pilot_

Klebsiella pneumoniae has been identified as a critical organism in the global spread of antimicrobial resistance. Resistant and hypervirulent clones are increasingly recognised as a clinical problem in Asian countries, however little is known about the populations of bacteria circulating in the region. This project involves sequencing the genomes of 960 K. pneumoniae isolated from 15 countries during 2015-2016, to investigate the populations of clinically important resistant and/or virulent clones circulating in Asia.
