The UK power market is integrated with the European market, especially Central Western Europe and the Nordic electricity market forming one of the largest integrated markets in the world. The forward market includes up to 4 weeks, calendar months, quarters and 6 seasons.
LEBA UK Power Indices have been developed by the market for the market and have become established reference points in the UK power market.
The prompt market includes base and peak load products for the day ahead, weekend and month ahead. Combination blocks are discrete standardized blocks of 4-hour periods as defined by the EFA (Electricity Forward Agreement) system. Baseload products exist for all blocks; peak products only apply to blocks 3, 4 and 5.
You can access consolidated data from the major Contributing brokers GFI Brokers Ltd, Griffin Markets Ltd, ICAP Energy Limited, Marex Spectron and Tullett Prebon Energy.
