‘Candidate 7500’ is the single name given to multiple peaks in the range m/z 7-8000 in MALDI-TOF MS (the paper’s Figs. 2-6) seen many times during a search for the molecular basis for an organ-mass downregulatory reproductive hormonal activity (Hart, 2014; all references in paper). Bioassay guided fractionations (see later, ‘Physicochemical Purifications’) involved ovarian follicular fluid, ovarian venous plasma and systemic blood plasma and serum mainly from sheep (Ovis aries).
