Study of S. aureus mutants that demonstrate increased gene transfer

This project sought to identify and characterise Staphylococcus aureus genes which increase the rate of horizontal gene transfer when knocked out in a mutant. This was in order to better understand how gene transfer is controlled in this highly adaptable pathogen, with relevance to the development of resistance.
