Improved high-quality genome assembly and annotation of Coccidioides posadasii, Silveira strain. Coccidioides posadasii strain:Silveira

Coccidioidomycosis or “Valley fever” is a fungal disease caused by the saprophytic species complexes Coccidioides immitis and C. posadasii. The C. posadasii strain Silveira was isolated from a patient carrying Valey Fever in 1953 and since then, is widely used in host-pathogen interaction studies, showing a high virulent profile. The first draft genome of C. posadasii Silveira strain was performed using old AB 3730 capillary sequencing and we improved this genome assembly and annotation using Single-molecule, real-time sequencing PacBio sequencing.
