Gene database of Streptomyces coelicolor A3(2)

<i>Streptomyces coelicolor</i> is a filamentous microorganism with a single linear chromosome with distinct telomeres. Capable of asymmetric cell division and development of hyphae, the microorganism is an interesting model organism for understanding cellular differentiation in microbial life. Using an in-house MATLAB software for parsing the annotated genome sequence of <i>S. coelicolor</i> A3(2), this work builds a gene database of the organism. Comprising gene name, gene function, and gene sequence of all genes in the genome of the microorganism, the resource should be useful for diving deeper into the mystery of cellular differentiation in this multi-facet microorganism.
