In the study, we aim to explore the causal relationship between BMI (ukb-b-19953)and polycystic ovarian syndrome (finn-b-E4_POCS) using a bidirectional, two-sampleMR analysis with the latest GWAS database. Our results support a causal relationship in this regard. The findings highlight theimportance of recognizing and safeguarding populations at risk of PCOS due tooverweight or obesity. Inversely, our research found that the severity of PCOS mayalso be one of the potential factors contributing to BMI increase, possibly informinginnovative prevention and treatment strategies
